Pi Display Black Screen / not booting#
Note
This is likely because the command nofail
is missing in the
drive mounting command within /etc/fstab
on the PI. Instructions
found here
Pi displays black screen with text
Attempting to boot in emergency mode
after attempting to boot pi with HDMI connected
This is because your thumb drive is not plugged in or it has been corrupted.
And nofail has not been added to /etc/fstab
Don’t worry, you can still salvage the data that was collected.
Label and remove the collected thumb drive. I found that you can still
access the data on that thumb drive if you connect it to a machine running
MacOS or Windows OS.
Connect a NTFS formatted thumb drive to the Pi, this should solve the issue. If you reboot, you should see the start up screen. See instructions above for formatting a new drive if needed [ easiest to do in lab ]
